Mandy Blount
(Owner/Groomer)

Before starting Perro Mi Perro I was a senior stylist at an upscale salon in Austin. I loved doing hair! But once I fell in love with my first dog Bernie, I made a big career change.

The mission of Perro mi Perro is to provide superior quality dog grooming and boarding. Pets and owners will feel like they are coming home when they come to our 10-acre rural facility.

I was not always a dog person. It wasn't that I did not enjoy them, I did, I just figured I was too busy to give a pet the kind of love and attention it deserves. I got my first dog, Bernie, as a foster dog and immediately fell in love. This experience changed my life, both personally and professionally. I was a successful stylist at an up-scale salon in Austin prior to starting this business. I've been grooming and boarding dogs for close to 10 years now. The career change has made a happier and more compassionate person.

Bernie was a rescue… well, sort of. I got her from a family member who could no longer care for her. Devastated by the thought of this precious pup once having a home only to find herself at a shelter, I couldn’t resist taking her in. They call that a “foster fail”!

We have two full time groomers including myself. Our other stylist is Juana Coombs. Bio below.

Juana Coombs
(Stylist/Groomer)

Perro Mi Perro is proud to have Juana Coombs as a senior groomer. Not only is she one of the most experienced and talented groomers in Central Texas, she is also an award winning dog handler, showing her own standard poodle, Barbie, and the latest addition to the family, Ken, a silky terrier. Juana and her husband Harry recently added a third addition to the family, another standard poodle, Skipper.

Juana has been grooming dogs for more than 35 years. She has owned her own grooming and boarding business, and has worked as a groomer in two veterinary hospitals.

Juana says she was born an avid animal lover. Her first pet was a skunk, Stinky, which would frequent the property she grew up on in rural Central Texas.
